ML Scientist (Theoretical AI) – Intern

You’ll contribute to the foundation of our ML monitoring pipeline (e.g., quantifying robustness, bias, and performance of ML models in production). 

The internship will be 12 weeks long.

Compensation. The hourly pay rate for this internship is $30–$45 based on location and experience. The hourly pay rate for those based in the New York City metropolitan area is $40–$60.

Location. Hybrid (New York City). Must be able to travel to NYC, at the minimum for the first and the last week of their internship. 

Mindset. We are looking for a founder mindset. Take pride and ownership of your work, build at lightspeed, and look for solutions instead of excuses when things don’t work as expected.

Technical qualifications.

Must haves:

• Track record of excellent quantitative skills (e.g., Ph.D. studies, Olympiads).
• Track record of research related to the theoretical foundation of AI (e.g., stochastic optimization, applied probability and statistics, reinforcement learning, information theory)
• Python proficiency.
• Experience with ML frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TF) backed by a portfolio of past projects.

Plus: 

• Currently enrolled in a quantitative Ph.D. program. 
• Published research in top-tier journals and conferences including but not limited to NeurIPS, ICML, AISTATS, and AAAI.
• Prior contributions to open source projects.
